This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect Personal Data when you use the EZ Legal Hire website, mobile applications (if any), and related services (together, the “Platform”).

1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

DAR AL HAQOOQ LEGAL CONSULTANCY LLC is the owner and operator of the EZ Legal Hire Platform and is the “Data Controller” for Personal Data processed through the Platform for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless stated otherwise.

The Platform enables users to request and receive legal consultations and related services from participating legal consultants and to access legal information and service management features (such as scheduling, messaging, and payments).

We are committed to protecting your Personal Data in accordance with applicable UAE laws, including the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the “PDPL”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that we will process Personal Data as described in this Privacy Policy. Where the PDPL requires your consent for specific processing activities (for example, certain cookies, direct marketing, or Sensitive Personal Data), we will request it separately and you may withdraw it as described below.

2. Personal Data We Collect (and Where It Comes From)

We collect Personal Data from (a) you, (b) your device and browser automatically when you use the Platform, and (c) participating legal consultants and service providers involved in delivering the services you request.

General Personal Data

  • Identity and profile information: Full name, username, date of birth, and account preferences.
  • Contact information: Email address, telephone number, and address.
  • Messaging details: Telephone number including WhatsApp or similar numbers.
  • Government identification: Emirates ID and/or passport details/copies, and residency/visa information.
  • Residential address: Home address and, where relevant, billing address.
  • Employment/Business information: Employer name, role, trade license info, and related contact details.
  • Legal matter and case information: Instructions, summaries, supporting documents, evidence, and filings.
  • Payment and transaction information: Transaction status and payment reference (processed via third-party PSPs; we do not store full card credentials).

Sensitive Personal Data

Because the Platform relates to legal services, you may choose to provide "Sensitive Personal Data". We ask that you only submit what is necessary.

  • Information about criminal matters: Allegations, charges, investigations, convictions, and court documents.
  • Employment disputes: Grievances, disciplinary actions, and workplace complaints.
  • Financial information: Debts, liabilities, bank statements, and settlement terms.
  • Family matters: Marriage/divorce, child custody, and personal status documentation.
  • Commercial disputes: Contracts, shareholder issues, invoices, and company records.

Depending on your matter, Sensitive Personal Data may also include health, biometric, or genetic data. Where required by the PDPL, we will rely on your explicit consent or another permitted ground before processing this information.

3. Automatic and Technical Data We Collect

When you use the Platform, we (and our service providers) may automatically collect technical and usage data through cookies, pixels, SDKs, server logs, and similar technologies.

  • IP address
  • Browser type and language
  • Device information (for example, device model, operating system, device identifiers, and app version where applicable)
  • Access times and activity timestamps
  • Referring URLs and pages you visit
  • Usage data and navigation behaviour (for example, clicks, scrolling, search queries, and session duration)

We use this information to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform
  • Maintain service quality and user experience
  • Monitor performance, security, and fraud/abuse prevention
  • Generate aggregated analytics and reports

4. Why We Process Personal Data (Purposes) and Our Lawful Grounds

We process Personal Data for the purposes below. Under the PDPL, we rely on one or more lawful grounds such as: (i) performance of a contract/services, (ii) your consent (where required), (iii) compliance with legal obligations, and (iv) our legitimate interests (for example, security and fraud prevention), where permitted.

  • Provide the Platform and deliver requested services (including onboarding, identity verification where needed, scheduling, and consultation delivery) (Ground: performance of contract/services)
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between you and participating legal consultants through the Platform (Ground: performance of contract/services; and legitimate interests in operating the Platform)
  • Process bookings, invoices, and payments, and manage refunds/chargebacks where applicable (Ground: performance of contract/services; compliance with legal obligations for accounting)
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Platform (Ground: legitimate interests in service improvement and reliability)
  • Provide customer support, respond to requests, and manage complaints (Ground: performance of contract/services; legitimate interests)
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, and respond to lawful requests from courts, regulators, and law enforcement (Ground: legal obligation; and/or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims)

Send service-related messages (such as confirmations and important notices) (Ground: performance of contract/services). We may also send marketing or promotional communications where permitted by law (Ground: consent where required or legitimate interests where permitted). You can opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism in the message or by emailing help@ezlegalhire.com.

Lawful Grounds Summary (Illustrative):

5. Communications on the Platform (Consultations, Messages, and Confidentiality)

To operate the Platform and deliver services (including quality control, dispute handling, safety, and support), EZ Legal Hire may access, review, and process communications and files exchanged through the Platform between users and participating legal consultants, to the extent reasonably necessary.

You should not assume that a lawyer-client relationship is created merely by using the Platform or sending a message. A lawyer-client relationship may arise only if and when it is expressly confirmed by the relevant legal consultant in accordance with applicable professional rules and our Terms of Use. You are responsible for ensuring that any information you share is appropriate for your circumstances; participating legal consultants are expected to treat information shared for your matter as confidential in accordance with their professional obligations and applicable law.

6. Who We Share Personal Data With

We share Personal Data only as needed for the purposes described above and with appropriate safeguards. Categories of recipients may include:

  • Participating legal consultants you choose to engage (to provide consultations and related services)
  • Hosting, cloud, IT, communications, and customer support providers (to operate and secure the Platform)
  • Analytics and measurement providers (for example, Google Analytics) to understand usage and improve the Platform (subject to cookie choices)
  • Security, fraud prevention, and abuse monitoring providers (to protect users, consultants, and the Platform)
  • Courts, regulators, government authorities, and law enforcement, where we are required or permitted to do so by applicable law or to protect legal rights

We do not sell your Personal Data. We also do not rent it to third parties.

Payment service providers ("PSPs") and financial institutions involved in processing your payments (we share only what is necessary to complete the transaction and manage related issues such as refunds or chargebacks).

7. Where We Process and Store Personal Data (UAE-Only by Default)

We intend to store and process Personal Data in the United Arab Emirates, and our servers and primary service providers are located in the UAE. If an exceptional situation requires limited processing or access from outside the UAE (for example, a specialist service provider supporting security incident response or a tool you choose to enable), we will take appropriate safeguards consistent with the PDPL, which may include contractual protections, access controls, and limiting the data shared to what is necessary.

Where we use service providers, we require appropriate confidentiality, security, and data protection obligations consistent with the nature of the services and the PDPL.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies (Google Analytics and Meta Pixel)

We use cookies and similar technologies for (a) strictly necessary functions, (b) analytics/measurement, and (c) advertising/retargeting (where enabled). Where required, we will show a cookie banner and ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for core functions such as login, account authentication, security, fraud prevention, and keeping the Platform working properly
  • Preference cookies: remember choices you make (for example, language and settings)
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): helps us understand how users interact with the Platform (for example, page views, sessions, and usage patterns) so we can improve performance and user experience
  • Advertising/marketing cookies (Meta Pixel): helps measure the effectiveness of ads and may support showing you more relevant ads on Meta platforms, subject to your cookie choices and applicable law

Your choices: (i) use our cookie banner/preferences tool (where shown) to accept or reject non-essential cookies; (ii) adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies; and (iii) use available opt-out mechanisms offered by Google Analytics and Meta (for example, browser add-ons or account/ad preference controls) as described by those providers. If you disable strictly necessary cookies, some features may not work.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect Personal Data, taking into account the nature of the data and the risks of processing, including:

  • Access controls and role-based permissions (limiting access to authorized personnel and consultants who need it)
  • Encryption in transit (and encryption at rest where applicable), secure key management, and secure configuration practices
  • Monitoring, logging, and incident response procedures to detect and respond to suspicious activity

Personal Data is stored on secure systems, and we use security controls appropriate to the Platform and the types of data processed.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for using secure passwords and device settings.

10. Data Retention

We keep Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide services, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, maintain accurate records, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the data and your matter. Illustrative ranges (which may be longer if required by law or needed for legal claims) are:

  • Account and profile data: while your account is active, and typically up to 24 months after account closure (unless you request deletion and we are permitted to delete earlier)
  • Platform communications (messages/support): typically 12–36 months after the last interaction, depending on operational and dispute-resolution needs
  • Case files and legal matter documents: typically 3–10 years after completion/closure of the matter, subject to applicable legal/professional obligations and the nature of the matter
  • Billing, invoices, and payment records: typically 5–10 years, as required for accounting, audit, and legal compliance

When retention is no longer required, we will securely delete, irreversibly anonymize, or otherwise dispose of Personal Data in accordance with applicable law and our retention procedures.

11. Your Rights Under the PDPL

Subject to the PDPL and applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to your Personal Data
  • Request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data
  • Request deletion/erasure of Personal Data where legally permissible
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on consent (withdrawal will not affect processing already carried out)
  • Object to, or request restriction of, certain processing where permitted by law (for example, direct marketing)

12. Children Under 18

The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children. If we learn that we have collected Personal Data from a child, we will take reasonable steps to delete it and disable the account, where applicable.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform and update the Effective Date and Version at the top.

If you continue to use the Platform after an update takes effect, you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
